Street sees "new day" for Philadelphia....

Mayor Street said the city will work with SugarHouse and Foxwoods, the two applicants who were awarded licenses to operate slots casinos on the Delaware River. (Street, as you all may already know, had supported the slots application by Riverwalk, whose investors included former Philadelphia city solicitor Ken Trujillo, Philly NAACP chairman J. Whyatt Mondesire and Philadelphia Tribune publisher Robert W. Bogle).

"It will be a huge boost to the waterfront," the mayor said. "You will be able to see these facilities from [Interstate] 95. People driving by will look and see these facilities and they'll stop and get engaged."

"This could be very great for us," he said. "This in some ways signals a huge new day for us in the city of Philadelphia."

"Hey honey, look at all the hookers . . . pull over!"

What about the rest of the state?

Street sees $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for him.

Maybe a great deal for Milton. I think NotliM Incorporated can steal more $$$$ from the tax payers.

And Street can shed a tear for the dirty but minority pals who got shut down.

Wah! From street vendor to out on the street!

Rendell wasn't suckered by the "I was born a po' black chile and that's why I should be able to buy off the mayor" folks.

This is a new day in Philly because Street's old pals won't be kicking back any campaign cash to buy off the winos to vote for him.

However will he raise money? Street thinks Nutter is a fool for supporting campaign finance reform, and has told him so. Notlim is not going to be able to snooker any of these casino owners.

I think Harrisburg is sick of what Street represents. Including Rendell.

Rendell is sick of Street, and is letting Street's machine die off in Philly.

Word up to Brady.

Move over Wilson Goode, John Street thinks dropping casino-bombs on ALL of the Delaware Waterfront is a good idea.

Nice legacy idea Mayor.

John Street does not know which way is up.

He recently has initiated a comprehensive planning process to identify the best use for the water front. This is good, and the people support it.

Now he supports two casinos smack in the middle of that same riverfront and calls it a new day for Philadelphia. This is bad, and the people are not at all happy.

Casinos are the last resort of desparate politicians. The City of Philadelphia deserves better.

Now the battle comes to our turf. I say to the casinos, "Not in our house."

I can't speak for everyone, but race and bigotry have nothing to do with my opinion on the casinos. The mayor is a bum though, and has been since kerry getz ollied his scooter riding ass at love park. If he'd lie about something as logical and simple as that issue, then spend 80 grand on rat nests for love park, then one can assume that all words he speaks are lies, especially when actual money is at stake.

How many millions did the shoe company offer you to make a safe park for our kids? 5 million. Thanks.
